Jamtronica comin' atcha

So I went to see the Disco Biscuits last night, which for those who don't know is a really sweet jam band/electronic group from Philly who throw down some great jams. They are best heard live, but have a couple catchy studio recorded tracks as well.

"Home Again" - The Disco Biscuits
"On Time" - The Disco Biscuits
Here are two solid album recorded tracks

"Gone Gone Gone" - The New Deal
"Don't Blame Yourself" - The New Deal feat. Feist
These two tracks feature a group called the New Deal. I saw them this past summer at All Good Music Festival. They are similar to tDB in that they are electronically influenced and improvise live and throw down some illllll beats. They are playing here in Charlottesville this Friday and I plan on attending and would encourage others to do the same. The first track has no vocals but throws down an incredible beat that I'm sure many will recognize, and is more indicative of their style when seen live. The second one features Feist as the vocalist and is considerably more pop-influenced, but still throws down pretty hard.

"Hello (Dada Life Remix)" - Martin Solvieg & Dragonette
"Volcano (Zeds Dead Remix)" - Dragonette
BTW Dan Kurtz, the bassist/producer from the New Deal, double times as the producer for the electronic pop group Dragonette. I already posted their track "I Get Around" here. Here are two more hottt tracks from Dragonette

Oh and just a heads up, this week is a big week for concerts around here, between Bisco last night, New Deal on Friday, as well as Bassnectar AND Pretty Lights playing the same night in Richmond this Thursday (such a shame they are playing the same night in the same town but at different venues, I am torn at which one to attend) as well as Rebelution playing Thursday in Charlottesville (another possible option) this week will be rockin'. For that reason I will be posting my favorite tracks from those three acts this week to get ready for Throwdown Thursday. Stay tuned...
